Keeping that Smile Perfect: Caring for your Retainers
After all the hard work, this is the exciting moment when the braces come off and your new smile is revealed!
Caring for your retainers will ensure that you keep your smile beautiful!

Retainers are used to hold all your hard work in place. These are mostly used at the end of your braces or Invisalign treatment. This is to prevent shifting in the future!
Retainers need to be always worn, except when you are eating, for the first year. After the first year, retainers should only be worn when you sleep.
Retainer Checks
We will see you for a final check after four months to be certain that your teeth are maintaining their new positions and the retainers are doing their job.
Please bring your retainers to your appointment so we may check their fit and adjust them if necessary. Take care of the retainers because if they are damaged or lost, there is an additional charge to replace them.
If your retainers do not fit correctly or you are unable to wear them, please call the office immediately. Not wearing a retainer, even for a short period of time, may require a new retainer or possibly braces again.
